The powder extinguisher extinguishing agent is one which is in powder state and is projected by the pressure provided by the release of an auxiliary gas or after pressurization.
There are three types of powder extinguishers load:
◦ Normal Powder: Dry powder, based on sodium or potassium bicarbonate, effective for Class B fires and C. They are not good for Class A fires because they do not extinguish the fire.
◦ versatile powder: a monoammonium phosphate base, is effective for fires of class A, B and C.
◦ Special powder, for metal fires.
* Means of Extinction: Action on the chain reactions of combustion
* Employment Hazards: In dust-sensitive mechanisms and electronics.
* Classes of Fire: normal powder dry, ineffective in fires of class A and very effective on Class B fires Powder versatile, effective on fires of class A, very effective in Class B fires Usable in presence of electric current (the only multipurpose powder low voltage).
