A wage elevation of 10tanto per cent for the workers of the private sector approved on Thursday the government of the president Rafael Correa, which leaves the minimal salary in 240 dollars.
The secretary of Labor Relations, Richard Espinosa, on having done the advertisement said that the new amount will apply from the first of January, 2010 and he contemplates a remunerative increase from 218 dollars to 240 dollars, for which has contemplated 4tanto per cent of inflation, 4tanto per cent of the index of productivity of the internal brute product and 2tanto per cent of increase for equity, (fixed) by the government.
The new wages apply for what is named the basic salary, because every productive sector possesses a specific table of increases, since in case of craftsmen, the small industry and the agricultural sector, in that the salary spent from 200 to 240 dollars.
The government took the unilateral decision to raise the salary after which a commission integrated by businessmen, workers and authorities were not achieving a consensus after multiple meetings in December.
The principal union head offices were demanding from the government an increase of 102 dollars, up to 320 dollars, but the businessmen were assuring that this order was not economically sustainable and that it would transport more unemployment.
